My English IX — Class 9 Sindh Board book

Is kitab ke baare mein

My English IX is the Sindh Textbook Board's Class 9 English reader, and it is organized differently from a traditional literature book: 8 thematic units, each teaching the same six skills in rotation — Reading Comprehension, Listening and Speaking, Language Practice (grammar), Writing, Study Skills, and a Fun activity. The units themselves are built around ideas students care about: Ethics and Character Building (opening with The Last Sermon of the Holy Prophet ﷺ), Role Model (featuring Shah Abdul Latif), Education and Careers, Pakistan and National Pride, Healthy Life Style, Gender Equity, Life Skills, and People and Places.

The grammar thread is systematic and exam-focused: second conditionals and punctuation in Unit 1, modals and suffixes in Unit 2, articles and sentence types in Unit 3, voice and prefixes in Unit 4, narration in Unit 5, synonyms and since/for in Unit 6, translation in Unit 7, and adverbs and quotation marks in Unit 8. Writing skills progress from descriptive and narrative essays to formal letters, applications, emails, and summaries. Two model test papers and a glossary close the book — it is designed so that a student who works through every 1.3/2.3/3.3 (Language Practice) section has covered the entire grammar syllabus.
