This is the Sindh Textbook Board's English-medium Biology textbook for Class 9, prepared by the Association for Academic Quality (AFAQ) and prescribed by all five boards of Sindh (Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, and Karachi). It covers the complete Class 9 syllabus in 9 chapters, and unlike the older 19-chapter version, this edition was deliberately split so that 9 chapters are taught in Class 9 and the rest in Class 10.
The journey starts with an introduction to Biology and the scientific method (Solving a Biological Problem), then moves through biodiversity, cells and tissues, and the cell cycle. The second half is where it gets applied: enzymes and bioenergetics explain how living things power themselves, and the book closes with two big human-body systems — nutrition and transport. Special emphasis is given to applied aspects: biological problems of daily life, common disorders of the human body and their prevention, and agricultural problems of the country. Each chapter carries summaries, information boxes, and extensive exercises.

Nine. This edition was restructured so that 9 chapters are taught in Class 9 (Introduction to Biology, Solving a Biological Problem, Biodiversity, Cells and Tissues, Cell Cycle, Enzymes, Bioenergetics, Nutrition, Transport) and the remaining syllabus continues in the Class 10 book.
