Mathematics Part I is the first of the two NCERT volumes for Class 12 mathematics (rationalized, 2026-27). Its 6 chapters build the algebraic and calculus foundations: relations and functions, inverse trigonometric functions, matrices and determinants, then continuity, differentiability and the applications of derivatives.
This volume carries the heaviest conceptual load of the year — calculus alone (chapters 5 and 6 here, continuing in Part II) is worth 35 of the 80 theory marks. The rationalized print has trimmed sub-sections inside chapters like Relations and Functions and Three-Dimensional Geometry, so students should solve only from the current edition.

Part I ka calculus block (ch 5-6) poore saal ki buniyad hai — chain rule aur maxima-minima ke bina Part II ke Integrals samajh nahi aayenge. Matrices-Determinants ko ek saath parhayein (10-12 marks ka combined block hai). Purani kitab se parhne wale bachchon ko rationalized deletions se khabardar karein — kuch sub-sections ab syllabus mein nahi.
