Themes in Indian History Part II covers medieval India (rationalized, 2026-27) in 4 themes: travellers' accounts, Bhakti-Sufi traditions, the imperial capital Vijayanagara, and peasants-zamindars-state under the Mughals. The deleted 'Kings and Chronicles: The Mughal Courts' theme is no longer part of the book.
This part's themes are rich in contrasting perspectives — Al-Biruni vs Ibn Battuta, state vs peasant — and board questions reward students who can present both sides of a debate.
