This is the PCTB Class 8 Mathematics textbook written for the Single National Curriculum 2022 (printed as an Experimental Edition). It is organized into five domains instead of loose chapters. Domain 1, Numbers and Operations, is the largest: Real Numbers, Estimation and Approximation, Square Roots and Cube Roots, Sets, Ratio, Rate and Proportion, and Percentage and Financial Arithmetic. Domain 2 covers Algebra — Number Sequence and Patterns, Expansion and Factorization, and Linear Equations and Inequalities. Domain 3 (Measurement) is a full Mensuration unit with the Pythagoras theorem, circle geometry, and surface area and volume of the pyramid, sphere, hemisphere and cone, plus an advanced section on arc length and sectors. Domain 4 is Geometry — congruency and similarity, construction of triangles and transformation — and Domain 5 closes the book with Statistics and Probability: Information Handling and Probability. Answers, a Glossary and a Symbols/Notations section at the end make it self-check friendly.

Two things make this edition stand out. First, every sub-domain opens with 'Students' Learning Outcomes' written as plain checkable statements — for example Real Numbers lists closure, associative, commutative and distributive properties right up front, so students know exactly what they must be able to do. Second, the book deliberately ties maths to real life: Financial Arithmetic deals with the money maths of banking and business, mensuration opens with a real-world distance problem, and the well-and-water-level illustration for negative numbers shows how the authors want concepts anchored in things students can see.
