This is the Urdu-medium Geography textbook for Class 8, written to the Single National Curriculum 2022 (یہ کتاب یکساں قومی نصاب 2022ء کے مطابق اور بورڈ کی منظور کردہ ہے). It opens with بحر اور بحیرے (Oceans and Seas) — where students learn the difference between oceans and seas, the world's great oceans, gulfs, bays and straits, ocean currents, and the fact that water covers 71% of the Earth with 97% of it in the oceans. The book then moves to آب و ہوا اور زندگی (climate and life), ماحولیاتی آلودگی (environmental pollution), صنعت کاری اور بین الاقوامی تجارت (industrialization and international trade), نقل و حمل اور ان کی اہمیت (transport and its importance), and معاشرتی اور معاشی ترقی (social and economic development).
Every باب begins with حاصلاتِ تعلم (Student's Learning Outcomes) that tell the student exactly what they must be able to explain, compare and identify — from drawing the difference between a gulf and a bay, to explaining the dangers facing today's oceans. The language is simple Urdu with English terms in brackets (Oceans and Seas, Industrialization and International Trade), and the book closes with a فرہنگ (glossary) and کتابیات on page 86.

Is the Urdu-medium book the same syllabus as the English-medium one?
Yes — it is the same Single National Curriculum 2022 content as the English-medium Geography book, taught and examined in Urdu. The chapter titles, page numbers and learning outcomes match; only the language of instruction differs.
Which chapter do students find hardest?
Most students find باب 4 (صنعت کاری اور بین الاقوامی تجارت) the heaviest, because it introduces many new economic terms, followed by باب 3 (ماحولیاتی آلودگی) with its causes-and-effects chains. Start these early, make one-page cause-effect charts for pollution, and learn the trade chapter's key terms from the فرہنگ.
How should my child prepare for the Geography paper?
Practice two things: (1) the diagrams — the water-distribution chart in باب 1, and any map or cycle the book shows; exam questions often ask you to label them; (2) definitions with examples, like the difference between بحر (ocean) and بحیرہ (sea), or خلیج and آبنائے. Write each definition in one line and revise from the حاصلاتِ تعلم at the start of each باب.
What is the فرہنگ at the end of the book?
The فرہنگ on page 86 is a glossary of the difficult Urdu and English terms used in the six chapters — teachers frequently set MCQs and short definitions from it. Revise it chapter-wise rather than all at once, and کتابیات (page 86) lists the reference books the authors used.
