Asan Urdu V is the Sindh Textbook Board's Class 5 Urdu reader, written to the 2022 national curriculum. Its 25 lessons open with the hamd 'حمد' and the seerat lesson 'خاتم النبیین ﷺ کی سیرت طیبہ', grounding the year in faith before it moves to stories, science and national life.
Children meet real places and people: the lakes of Sindh in 'کہانی ایک جھیل کی' and 'حمل جھیل کی سیر', a bus journey in 'بس کا سفر', the national hero 'راشد منہاس شہید', and their own heritage in 'سندھی ثقافت'. National occasions are covered too — 'یوم آزادی', 'ہمارا پرچم', 'عیدالاضحیٰ' and the closing prayer 'دعا'.
Nine of the 25 lessons are poems (نظم) — 'نعت', 'کھیتیوں کا پاسباں', 'کالی گھٹا', 'ہماری گائے' and others — giving children plenty of rhythmic reading. Every lesson ends with حاصلات تعلم (learning outcomes), نئے الفاظ (new words) and exercises, and the book closes on a light note with 'پہیلیاں اور لطائف'.
