Is kitab ke baare mein

The Pre-I Urdu Primer (PCTB, Single National Curriculum 2020) is the child’s first Urdu classroom book, and it behaves like one: it opens with hamd, naat and bachay ki dua, then teaches classroom manners, caring for others and self-protection before a single letter appears. After that it walks through the alphabet harf by harf — alif se le kar bari ye tak — with a revision (aada) after every group of letters.

Between the letters the book hides real life lessons: Islam ke arkaan, traffic ke ishare, sawariyan (tanga, rikshaw, bus, motor), and short stories like "Chaar Dost", "Kachhwa aur Khargosh" and "Shararti Bandar". It closes with the building blocks of real Urdu — musawwaton ki pehchan, wahid-jama, arkaan saazi, takhleeqi likhai and ramooz-e-auqaf — so the child leaves Pre-I ready to read and write.

Ustad ka mashwara

Har harf ko uski awaz se parhwayein — "bay" nahi, "b" ki awaz, aur phir us harf se shuru hone wali cheez (ب سے بلی) bachay ko khud bolne dein. Aada wale safhay sirf dohrayi ke liye hain; jaldi aagay barhne ki bajaye harf pukhta karwayein.

Is the Pre-I Urdu Primer PDF free to download?

Yes. It is the official PCTB Pre-I Urdu primer under the Single National Curriculum 2020, free for students, teachers and parents. Use the Download button for the official file.

How many lessons are in the Urdu Primer?

68 items in the fehrist — opening duas, manners and safety lessons, the full alphabet letter by letter with six revision (aada) stops, stories, and the first steps of Urdu grammar and creative writing.

Does the book teach grammar too?

Yes, at Pre-I level: wahid-jama (singular/plural), musawwaton ki pehchan (vowel recognition), arkaan saazi (syllable building), takhleeqi likhai (creative writing) and ramooz-e-auqaf (punctuation marks).

My child cannot read Urdu yet. Where should we start?

Start with the letter pages (harf alif, page 12 onward): say the letter’s sound together, trace it, and name the picture word. The book’s own aada (revision) pages tell you when to stop and revise before moving on.
