Understanding Society is the second half of Class 11 Sociology — a deeper analysis of society itself. Five chapters: Social Structure, Stratification and Social Processes in Society, Social Change and Social Order in Rural and Urban Society, Environment and Society, Introducing Western Sociologists (Marx, Durkheim, Weber), and Indian Sociologists.
The two sociologist chapters are the long-answer territory of the board paper — each thinker's perspective and an example must be learnt precisely. The rural-urban comparison chapter frequently produces the six-mark question.
