Indian Economic Development (IED) is the second half of Class 11 Economics — the economic story of India. Eight chapters: the Indian economy on the eve of independence, the planning era of 1950-1990, the 1991 liberalisation-privatisation-globalisation reforms, human capital formation, rural development, employment, environment and sustainable development, and a comparative study of India with its neighbours.
The rationalized edition removed two chapters — Poverty and Infrastructure — leaving eight. Data-based questions (tables, graphs, trends) are this book's signature; the story matters as much as the statistics.
