Chemistry Part II is where organic chemistry begins for Class 11 — just three chapters, but three that decide the next two years: Redox Reactions, Organic Chemistry – Some Basic Principles and Techniques (GOC), and Hydrocarbons.
The GOC chapter's electronic effects — inductive, resonance, hyperconjugation — open the door to all of Class 12 organic chemistry. Hydrocarbons' reactions must be learnt through mechanisms, not rote memorisation.
