This is the official Class 12 Physics textbook from the Balochistan Textbook Board, Quetta, following the National Curriculum 2006. Continuing the numbering from first-year physics, it opens at Unit 11 with Electrostatics — Coulomb's law, electric field, Gauss's law, electric potential and capacitors — then moves through Current Electricity (Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws, Wheatstone bridge, potentiometer), Electromagnetism, Electromagnetic Induction (Faraday's and Lenz's laws, AC generator and motor, transformer) and Alternating Current.
The second half covers Physics of Solids (Hooke's law, superconductors, hysteresis), Electronics (semiconductors, PN junction, rectification, transistors as amplifier and switch), Dawn of the Modern Physics (relativity, blackbody radiation, photoelectric effect, Compton effect, uncertainty principle), Atomic Spectra (Bohr's model, X-rays, laser) and Nuclear Physics (radioactivity, fission, fusion, radiation detectors). Each unit lists its periods, major concepts, conceptual linkages and student learning outcomes, and the book ends with appendices, a glossary and an index.

Why does this book start at Unit 11 instead of Unit 1?
Yes. This is the official second-year physics book published by the Balochistan Textbook Board, Quetta. The units continue from Class 11, so the first unit is Unit 11 (Electrostatics), not Unit 1.
Which units are most important for board exams?
Unit 11 (Electrostatics) and Unit 12 (Current Electricity) together usually carry the most marks — Coulomb's law, Gauss's law, capacitors, Ohm's law and Kirchhoff's laws are asked every year. Unit 14 (Electromagnetic Induction) and Unit 17 (Electronics) are the next most important.
Does each unit list learning outcomes?
Yes — every unit opens with its allocated periods (e.g. 21 periods for Electrostatics), a Major Concepts list, the conceptual linkage to earlier classes, and a full set of Student Learning Outcomes ('After studying this unit, the students will be able to...').
