This is the official Class 12 Chemistry textbook from the Balochistan Textbook Board, Quetta, built on the National Curriculum 2006. Like the biology book, it continues the chapter numbering from first year, opening at Chapter 13 with s- and p-Block Elements and Chapter 14 on d- and f-Block (transition) Elements, including coordination compounds.

Why does this book start at Chapter 13 instead of Chapter 1?
Yes. This is the official second-year chemistry book published by the Balochistan Textbook Board, Quetta. The numbering continues from Class 11, so the first chapter is Chapter 13 (s- and p-Block Elements), not Chapter 1.
Which chapters carry the most marks in board exams?
The organic chemistry block — Chapters 16 (Hydrocarbons), 19 (Aldehydes and Ketones) and 20 (Carboxylic Acids) — carries the most marks: nomenclature, preparation methods and reaction mechanisms are asked every year. Chapter 13 (periodic trends) and Chapter 14 (transition elements) are the top inorganic chapters.
Does each chapter list its learning outcomes?
