Prepared by the Sindh Textbook Board, Jamshoro and approved by the Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, General Knowledge I is the prescribed GK textbook for Class 1 across Sindh. Nine units and fifty chapters walk the child outward in widening circles: our beliefs, the earth and sky, myself, family, neighbourhood, plants and animals, objects around us, weather and seasons, and transportation.
Early chapters are deliberately simple — 'Allah is One. Allah is the Creator.' — then grow into observing the world: keeping ourselves clean, good manners, parts of a plant, what plants need to grow, farm, pet and wild animals, objects of different sizes, shapes, textures and materials, predicting the weather, and traffic rules.
Every chapter ends with activities (fill in the blanks, matching, drawing) so the teacher can check understanding the same day the lesson is taught.
