Exploring Society: India and Beyond Part I is the first volume of the new NCF-SE Class 7 Social Science textbook from NCERT (NEP 2020 series), launched July 2025. Its 12 chapters continue the integrated approach — geography, history, culture, governance and economics together across 5 themes. The volume opens with India's geographical diversity, weather and climates, then journeys through new cities and states, the rise of empires, the age of reorganisation, the Gupta era, sacred landscapes, types of governments, the Constitution of India, and closes with barter, money and markets.
Schools typically teach Part I in the first term; Part II (November 2025) continues the story in the second term.
