Is kitab ke baare mein
Poorvi is the new NCF-SE Class 6 English textbook from NCERT (NEP 2020 series), replacing the old Honeysuckle and A Pact with the Sun. It is organised into 5 thematic units — Fables and Folk Tales, Friendship, Nurturing Nature, Sports and Wellness, and Culture and Tradition — with 16 chapters of stories and poems rooted largely in Indian life, from Rama to the Rescue and Neem Baba to Change of Heart.
The book's heart is its Indian voice: nine prose pieces by Indian authors sit alongside five poems, and the closing unit celebrates Bharat itself — Hamara Bharat—Incredible India!, The Kites, Ila Sachani: Embroidering Dreams with her Feet, and the National War Memorial. Every chapter carries activity-based exercises on speaking, writing and thinking rather than rote question-answers.
