Ganita Prakash (meaning 'Light of Mathematics') is the new NCF-SE Class 6 mathematics textbook from NCERT (NEP 2020 series), replacing the old Mathematics book. Its 10 chapters rebuild maths around patterns and play: Patterns in Mathematics, Number Play and Prime Time train number sense, while Lines and Angles, Playing with Constructions, Perimeter and Area, and Symmetry build geometry through doing.
The book's final chapter, The Other Side of Zero, gently introduces negative numbers — a big first for Class 6 — and Data Handling and Presentation teaches children to read and draw the world in charts. Every chapter is activity-first: observe, fold, draw and discover before calculating.
