Santoor is the new NCF-SE English textbook for Class 3, launched by NCERT in 2024 as part of the NEP 2020 series. It replaces the old Marigold book with 12 fresh chapters built around a young child's world — friends, toys, gardens, food and the night sky — from 'Colours' and 'Talking Toys' to 'Chanda Mama Counts the Stars' and 'Chandrayaan'.
Every chapter mixes stories and poems with NCERT's activity-based exercises — speaking, drawing and doing rather than rote learning. Chapters like 'The Big Laddoo' and 'Paper Boats' turn everyday fun into language practice, while 'Chandrayaan' connects little learners to India's journey to the Moon.
