This is the official Balochistan Textbook Board General Science textbook for Grade 8 (prepared by New College Publication, Quetta; approved by the Provincial Education Department under the National Curriculum 2022-23). Twelve units span life science, chemistry, physics and everyday technology: from ecology, the human nervous system, heredity and biotechnology, through the periodic table, chemical reactions and acids-bases-salts, to light, force and pressure, electricity and magnetism — ending with technology in everyday life and our universe.
Each unit opens with clearly listed Students' Learning Outcomes (SLOs), so teachers and students know exactly what each chapter must deliver. The unit on ecology develops food webs, energy pyramids and the oxygen-carbon balance; biotechnology introduces the science behind everyday applications; and the physics units build from reflection and refraction of light to force, pressure, electricity and magnetism. A glossary (page 215) and index (page 224) close the book.
