This is the Balochistan Textbook Board's official English textbook for Class 7, developed on the National Curriculum of Pakistan 2022-23 (Pilot Edition). Every unit runs four skills side by side — Reading and Thinking Skills, Oral Communication, Grammar and Vocabulary, and Writing Skills — so students read, discuss, write and speak around each theme rather than just memorising it.
The 12 units open with Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) and The Power of Education, then alternate prose and poetry: Hope is the thing with feathers (poem), Mehrgarh (the ancient Balochistan civilisation), Importance of Reading Books, Warned (poem), The Wisdom of Hazrat Sulaiman, Dureji — a Model Town in Balochistan, Don't Quit (poem), The King and His Pious Minister, The Impacts of Social Media, and The Candle of Hope (poem). Grammar moves from paragraph structure and pronoun-antecedent agreement in Unit 1 to indirect speech and conjunctions in Unit 12, while writing grows from single paragraphs to narratives, formal letters, descriptive compositions and informative essays.
