Urdu - Grade 1 is the Balochistan Textbook Board's official Class 1 اردو textbook, developed on the National Curriculum of Pakistan 2022-23 and printed as the Pilot Edition for the 2026 academic year. Written by Dr. Zia-ul-Haq Kakar and Nageena Rehman and edited by Salma Akhtar, the 144-page book opens with an اعادہ / دہرائی (revision) section that rebuilds the alphabet, جوڑ توڑ and basic reading before the year's 15 اسباق begin.
The fifteen lessons mix حمد and نعت with stories and poems from the child's world: ہمارے پیارے نبی ﷺ, میرا گھر, ای ابو کو بتاؤ (a سنانے کا سبق), ہمارا اسکول پیارا اسکول, ادب و احترام, میرا وطن, the نظم باغ کی سیر, اللہ تعالیٰ کی نعمتیں, the نظم دیس ہمارا پاکستان, سرخ سبز پیلی بتیاں, the reading lesson بہادر سپاہی, پریشان زمین and the closing نظم چٹا منا.
