English - Grade 1 is the Balochistan Textbook Board's official Class 1 English textbook, developed on the National Curriculum of Pakistan 2022-23 and printed as the Pilot Edition for the 2026 academic year. Written by Mr. Azmat Hussain Butt and Mr. Nadeem Ahmad Khan and edited by Ms. Saima Shabir, the 136-page book carries 11 themed units — from Time to Recall and It's All about Me, through A Zoo and Fruits and Vegetables, to poems like The First Day of School, the story The Bee and the Dove, and the safety unit Be Safe.
Each unit opens with Student Learning Outcomes and builds four strands together: oral communication (listening and speaking, rhymes, role play), reading and critical thinking (phonics, double consonants, punctuation, dictionary use), vocabulary and grammar (naming words, action words, substitution words, plurals, masculine/feminine), and writing (sentence writing, dictation, picture composition).
