Is kitab ke baare mein

This is the official Practical Notebook: Physics, Grade IX (English Medium, 2023-24 edition) from the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board, Lahore. It contains the complete set of board practicals across seven chapters: Measurements (vernier callipers and screw gauge work), Kinematics (acceleration down an inclined plane and g by free fall), Dynamics (limiting friction and Atwood's machine), Turning Effect of Forces (force table, vector addition and the principle of moments), Gravitation (the simple pendulum experiments that determine g), Properties of Matter (the helical spring, Archimedes principle and density), and Thermal Properties of Matter (specific heat by the method of mixtures and the latent heat of fusion). The opening sections build the practical toolkit every student needs first: general laboratory safety procedures, a full skills build-up on displaying data on graphs, and a reference of useful data and formulae.

It is written for the technical-stream and science students who must perform, record and defend each experiment in the practical examination. Unlike the theory textbook, every experiment here follows the lab workflow — background information, least count and zero error of the instrument, step-by-step procedure, observation tables, graph work and precautions — which is exactly what examiners mark. That applied angle is the heart of the tech stream: instead of only reading about moments or specific heat, students learn to measure, plot and calculate like a working technician, with instruments (vernier callipers, screw gauge, metre rod, stopwatch) they will meet again in any technical job.

Ustad ka mashwara

Practical mein sab se zyada number graph aur least count se bantay hain — bachon ko vernier calliper aur screw gauge ki least count pehlay din yaad karwa dein, aur har experiment ka graph khud bananay ki aadat dalwain.

Aksar pooche gaye sawalat

Is this the theory book or something else?

This is the official PCTB Practical Notebook: Physics, Grade IX (English Medium, 2023-24) — the lab book, not the theory textbook. It holds all 22 board experiments with background information, procedures, observation tables and graph work, plus safety procedures and a graph-plotting skills build-up at the start.

How many chapters and experiments does it contain?

Seven chapters (Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 — Chapter 6 does not appear in this practical notebook) holding 22 experiments in total: 3 each on Measurements, Dynamics, Gravitation, Properties of Matter and Thermal Properties; 2 on Kinematics; and 5 on the Turning Effect of Forces.

Which experiments matter most for marks?

The graph-based experiments carry special weight because graph plotting is marked separately: Experiment 2.1 (acceleration from a 2S–t² graph), 5.1 (simple pendulum), 7.1 (load–extension) and 8.2 (temperature–time). The viva almost always asks least count and zero error of the vernier callipers and screw gauge from Chapter 1.

Is there an Urdu Medium version of this notebook?

Yes — the Urdu Medium edition of the Physics 9 practical notebook is also available in this series (slug pnb-physics-2). The experiments and page plan are the same; only the language of instruction changes.
