This is the 2020 English-medium Chemistry textbook published by Caravan Book House, Lahore, and approved by the Federal Ministry of Education (Curriculum Wing), Islamabad, under the National Curriculum 2006 (N.O.C. F.2-2/2010-Chem.). Written by Dr. Jaleel Tariq and Dr. Irshad Ahmad Chatha, it was printed under licence for free distribution in all government schools of Punjab, which is why most students and teachers still recognise it instantly.
The book is organised in eight units: Fundamentals of Chemistry, Structure of Atoms, Periodic Table and Periodicity of Properties, Structure of Molecules, Physical States of Matter, Solutions, Electrochemistry and Chemical Reactivity. Each chapter opens with Major Concepts, time allocation and weightage, so students can see exactly how much of the paper each unit carries.
