This is the English-medium 2024-25 edition of Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board's grade-9 'Art & Modal Drawing' (Experimental Edition), the counterpart of the Urdu-medium 2023-24 book. Across eight chapters it teaches the elements and principles of art, drawing and sketching with nine guided practices, painting across ten mediums (fresco, tempra, oil, watercolor, acrylics, pastels, digital painting) with three painting practices, graphic design and calligraphy, the history of architecture in Pakistan, South Asian painting, Pakistan's master calligraphists, and textile craft.
Compared with the Urdu-medium 2023-24 edition, this English-medium version reads fresher and more hands-on: drawing practices are spelled out as step-by-step exercises (symmetrical objects, still life with fruit, fresh flowers, landscape), and it closes with a bibliography, exam-assessment instructions and a glossary. It is written for English-medium technical-stream students of class 9.
