Is kitab ke baare mein

This is the complete English Grammar and Composition book for classes 9–10 — the single most-used exam-preparation book in the Punjab board system. It opens with vocabulary and verb forms, then works through the full tense system in active and passive voice, lesson by lesson. The second half is pure composition: parts of speech, pair of words, story writing with 12 model stories, 16 model letters plus applications and invitations, dialogue writing, comprehension, and paragraph writing with 11 solved paragraphs and hint-based exercises.

No other book repays systematic study like this one: the grammar portion is rule-based, so every rule you master converts directly into marks in translation, correction and narration questions. Work the tenses in order (lessons 1–6), write out one story and one letter per week by hand, and keep a personal notebook of pair of words — that notebook alone can secure the vocabulary marks.

Ustad ka mashwara

Grammar is not for reading, it's for writing. Read a rule once, then close the book and write ten sentences using it — that is the only way tenses stick. And students, write one letter and one story every week by hand and get them checked; neat handwriting and correct format are free marks most students throw away.

How are the tenses organized in this book?

Chapter 3 (page 20) covers all tenses in six lessons: Lesson 1 (introductory 'it'/'there', page 20), Lesson 2 ('is/am/are', 'was/were', page 21), Lesson 3 ('has/have', 'had', page 23), Lesson 4 (present tenses, page 25), Lesson 5 (past tenses, page 46), Lesson 6 (future tenses, page 68). Study them in order.

Which stories are included for story writing?

Chapter 5 (page 133) gives 12 complete stories — from 'A Farmer and His Sons' to 'The Jester and the King' — plus a story planner and specimen. Learn the planner format, then practice writing each story in your own words within the word limit.

What letters and applications does the book cover?

Chapter 6 (page 143) contains 16 model personal letters (i–xvi), formal invitations and replies (page 152), and 4 applications — for leave, fee-concession/stipend, character certificate, and a job (pages 153–155). Memorise one format for letters and one for applications; the content changes, the format doesn't.

How should I prepare paragraph writing?

Chapter 9 (page 174) gives 11 solved paragraphs — 'My School', 'A Visit to a Museum', 'Computers', 'Pakistani Women' and more — followed by exercises with hints (page 179) on topics like 'A Picnic', 'Allama Iqbal' and 'A House on Fire'. Practice expanding the hints into full paragraphs.
