# ReJob Theme — Setup Guide

For a brand-new user. Short steps, in order. No code editing needed,
except where a step says so.

ReJob is a Blogger theme for a job board: government, private, overseas
and newspaper jobs, with deadlines, apply buttons and WhatsApp alerts
built in.

---

## 1. Install (Restore) the Theme

1. Open Blogger and sign in to your blog.
2. Click **Theme** in the left menu.
3. Click the small arrow next to the **Customize** button.
4. Click **Restore**.
5. Click **Upload** and choose the ReJob theme `.xml` file.
6. Wait for the success message, then click **View blog** to check it.

Your old posts and pages are not deleted. Only the design changes.

**Tip:** before restoring, back up your old theme first
(Theme → arrow next to Customize → **Backup** → **Download theme**).

---

## 2. First Settings

Do these once, in this order. All are in **Layout** unless a step says
otherwise. In Layout, click the pencil (**Edit**) on a widget to change it.

### Colors

1. Click **Theme → Customize → Advanced**.
2. Set **Brand (Key) Color** — the main color for buttons and links.
3. Set **Apply Button Color** — the color of the Apply Online button.
4. Set **Body Background Color** and **Footer Background Color**.
5. Click **Save** (top right).

There is no **Dark Mode Default** option here: visitors switch
light/dark on the site itself and the theme remembers their choice.
(Blogger cannot hold that default in a theme variable, so the
control is not included.)

### Main site settings — "ReJob Configuration" widget

Edit the **value** of each setting only. **Never change a setting name,
and never delete the `key |` part before a description** — the theme
reads the name to find the setting.

| Setting | What to put | What it changes |

### Logo, menus and pages

1. **Site Logo** widget: upload your logo, or type your blog title.
2. Create these pages under **Pages → New Page**: About Us, Contact Us,
Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and a WhatsApp join page.
Publish each one and copy its link.
3. **Top Menu**, **Main Menu** and **Footer Quick Links** widgets:
paste those page links. The menus expect links like
   `/p/about-us.html` and `/p/contact-us.html`.
4. **About Us** footer widget: replace the image and text with your own.
5. Blog title and description: **Settings → Basic**.

### Comments (optional)

In the **Settings — Comments & Placeholder Image** widget:

- `commentsSystem` — type `blogger` for normal Blogger comments.
- `disqusShortname` — only if you use Disqus: type `disqus` above and
put your own Disqus shortname here.

## 3. Add a Job Post with the AI Prompt

The theme includes a ready AI prompt. It turns a newspaper job ad into
a complete post. Facts come only from the ad — the AI must not invent
any date, salary or number of posts.

1. Click **Layout** and find the card **AI Job Post Prompt**.
It shows only in Layout. Visitors never see it.
2. Copy the full prompt, from **PROMPT START** to **PROMPT END**.
3. Open ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude and paste the prompt.
4. Attach the newspaper job ad — a clear photo, a scan, or the ad text.
5. The AI returns a ready post: title, labels, and the post body.
6. In Blogger, click **Posts → New Post**.
7. Paste the AI title and body. Add the labels the AI gives you —
labels power the homepage filters and job-type links.
8. Check every fact against the ad: last date, posts, education, age.
9. Check the two links in `[apply]` and `[official]` (see §4).
They must be the organization's **official** links from the ad.
10. Click **Preview** to check the post, then click **Publish**.

Manual posts: the **Job Post Template** card in Layout has the same
structure to copy by hand.

## 4. Shortcodes

Shortcodes are small codes you type inside a post body. The theme turns
each one into a button, chip or box on the post page. Type them exactly
as shown — same brackets, no extra spaces inside the brackets.

| Shortcode | What it does | Example |
| --------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| `[lastdate]YYYY-MM-DD[/lastdate]` | Shows a "days left" chip; after the date, shows Expired; also sets the job expiry for Google | `[lastdate]2026-12-31[/lastdate]` |
| `[faq]` … `[/faq]` | Makes a tap-to-open FAQ box and adds FAQ schema for Google | See below |
| `[apply]URL[/apply]` | Makes the main **Apply Online** button | `[apply]https://example.gov.pk/apply[/apply]` |
| `[official]URL[/official]` | Makes the **Visit Official Website** button; with `[apply]` they show as one pair | `[official]https://example.gov.pk[/official]` |

FAQ example — one `Q:` line, one `A:` line, repeat for each question:

```
[faq]
Q: What is the age limit?
A: 18 to 25 years, as given in the advertisement.
Q: How do I apply?
A: Apply online on the official website before the last date.
[/faq]
```

Rules:

- The date in `[lastdate]` must be a real date, in `YYYY-MM-DD` order.
- Paste official links only — never a shortened or third-party link.
- If a shortcode looks wrong, click **Preview** before publishing and
fix the brackets or the date.

## 5. Ads Setup

Ad slots are widgets in **Layout**. Paste your ad network code
(AdSense, Adsterra, or similar) into each slot you want to use.

| Widget | Place | Best size |
| -------------------------------- | ------------------------------ | ---------------------------------- |
| Ad Slot — Header (728×90) | Top of every page | 728×90 banner, or 320×50 on mobile |
| Ad Slot — Content Area 1 and 2 | Inside the post list / content | Responsive |
| Ad Slot — Top of Post | Above each post | Responsive |
| Ad Slot — Below Post | Below each post | Responsive |
| Ad Slot — Footer | Footer area | Responsive |
| Ad Slot — Sidebar, titled "News" | Sidebar | Responsive |

Steps:

1. In your ad network, create the ad unit and copy its code.
2. In Blogger, click **Layout**, find the slot widget, click **Edit**.
3. Delete the placeholder text, paste your code, click **Save**.
4. For the header and footer slots, also set `showHeaderAd` /
`showFooterAd` to `true` in **ReJob Configuration**.

**Empty slots auto-hide.** A slot with no code shows nothing, so your
site stays clean until you add ads. Fill only the slots you need.

## 6. WhatsApp and Social Links

### WhatsApp

1. Create your WhatsApp group or channel and copy its join link —
or make a Blogger **Page** that lists your groups and copy its link.
2. Click **Layout → ReJob Configuration**.
3. Paste the link as the value of `whatsappUrl`. Click **Save**.

All WhatsApp buttons and banners now use this one link. To show or hide
the banners, set `showWhatsAppBanner` to `true` or `false`.

### Social links

Set your own profile links in three widgets in **Layout**:

- **Top Bar Social Links** — icons in the small bar above the header.
- **Follow Us** — icons in the footer.
- **Social Plugin** — social links in the sidebar.

For each network: paste your full profile link, or type `#` to hide
that icon. Click **Save** on each widget.

**X (Twitter) handle in page tags:** this one is in the theme code.
Click **Theme → Customize → Edit HTML**, search for `@iRehmanAhmad`,
and replace it with your own handle in both places — or delete those
two lines if you have no X account. Click **Save**.

---

## 7. Backup and Updates

### Back up (do this after setup, and before every change)

1. Click **Theme**.
2. Click the small arrow next to **Customize**.
3. Click **Backup**, then **Download theme**.
4. Keep the downloaded `.xml` file in a safe folder.

A backup lets you restore your exact theme if a change goes wrong.
Your widget settings live in the theme file, so back up after you
finish §2, not before.

### Update to a newer ReJob version

1. Back up your current theme first (steps above).
2. Note your settings: WhatsApp link, ad codes, social links, stats.
A restore can reset widget values to the new file's defaults.
3. Restore the new `.xml` file (see §1).
4. Re-check the settings in §2 and paste your values back if needed.
5. Open the homepage and one job post and check both look right.

---

## 8. Credits and License Note

- The footer must keep a credit link to **rehmanahmad.com** or
**filecobra.com**. You may change the visible owner name
(`footerOwnerName` in ReJob Configuration) — the credit link itself
  must stay.
- This is checked by the theme: if neither credit link is in the
footer, visitors are sent to rehmanahmad.com. Do not remove or
  hide the credit.
- Use and share this theme only as your license allows. The license
terms are in the comment at the top of the theme file and in the
terms you received it under. Do not resell or redistribute it
unless your license clearly permits that.

_Stuck? Your theme (v1.6.1) already has help built in: the
**START HERE** card sits at the top of **Layout**, and every Layout
widget carries a short description of what it does. The two
appendices at the end of this guide collect the same 8 setup steps
and the AI prompt card's steps + cheat-sheet, for offline reading._

---

## Appendix — START HERE: Set Up ReJob in 8 Steps

These are the 8 quick-start steps from the theme's **START HERE** Layout card (widget HTML104). In the shipped **v1.6.1** that card sits at the top of **Layout** — open it there, or follow the same steps here. Follow them in order after §1.

1. Set colors: Theme → Customize → Advanced; pick brand, button and background colors.
2. Add WhatsApp link: Layout → ReJob Configuration; paste your link in whatsappUrl.
3. Add ad codes: Layout → each Ad Slot widget; paste your ad code, or leave it empty.
4. Add social links: Layout → Top Bar, Follow Us, Social Plugin; paste your URLs.
5. Fix menu pages: Layout → Top Menu, Main Menu, Footer Quick Links; link your pages.
6. Learn the AI prompt: Layout → AI Job Post Prompt card; copy it for your first post.
7. Publish first post: Posts → New Post; paste the AI result, check facts, Publish.
8. Back up: Theme → arrow by Customize → Backup; download a copy and keep it safe.

---

## Appendix — How to Use the AI Prompt Card: 3 Steps + Shortcode Cheat-Sheet

These are the usage steps and shortcode cheat-sheet from the theme's **AI Job Post Prompt** Layout card (widget HTML103). In the shipped **v1.6.1** the card itself shows these steps and the cheat-sheet above the prompt — they are repeated here for offline reading. The full AI prompt sits in the card; use the steps below with it.

1. Copy the full prompt below, from PROMPT START to PROMPT END.
2. Paste it into ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude, and attach the job ad photo or text.
3. Paste the AI result into a new Blogger post, check every fact, then publish.
